Living with Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism Treatment

I thought that after I had my thyroid partially removed everything would go back to normal and I would have a dandy life again. Never I imagine that I have to see an endocrinologist on a regularly basis like weekly, monthly, quarterly. Well, that was my life that I had to go through. Couldn’t say I was happy, but I had to.

I did not remember I was given anything else after the surgery by the popular endocrinologist besides Coenzyme Q10 as supplement every time I visit him. And he would scan my thyroid with ultrasound, too. Had my blood tested regularly for FT4, FT3 and TSHs.

After a few years I got bored, especially because of the long wait to see the popular endocrinologist and I keep asking myself: how long should I see him for, how many more years, until I’m old? Then I reached a point that I do not wish to see him anymore. I was just tired and frustrated.

Complacency

I continued to exercise and live my life as normal as possible but sometimes you just feel it that sometimes your body is not in the right condition. I was fragile like a glass, easily get injured, having short breath, basically not fit enough. But I never stop exercising. I am determined to exercise because I want to be fit. I felt OK to continue my life as it was and learnt to live with my limited and fragile conditions.
